More and more, cities are the places where people organize and negotiate power. So we particularly work to support and organize civic and political activism in urban areas across the Americas, Africa, Europe, and Southwest Asia and North Africa (SWANA).
Hivos closely collaborates with the Humanis Foundation in Indonesia. And we will also seek to work in Europe, engaging with like-minded networks and coalitions to help turn the tide of shrinking civic space that threatens this continent as well. Besides our country-based work, we advocate with our partners for policies to promote the just, inclusive and life-sustaining societies we believe in at numerous regional, international and multi-lateral forums and institutions.
